Introduced in Provence by the Greeks around three thousand years ago, the olive is more than just a simple crop in the Luberon. Wine AOC Cotes du Luberon
This appellation controllée was started in 1988.
Nowadays, 4239 hectares ( about 8,500 acres) covers 36 communes in the Luberon Natural Park.
This AOC produces white, rosé and red wines in the proportion 67% red, 20% rosé, 13% white.
Above all, the soil of the Luberon produces a flavour which benefits from a great deal of sunshine throughout the year. The exceptional ‘bouquet’ of these wines is a result of a territory rich in a number of different flavours.
